A Bit of Everything...

Here are some more cards I've made recently. I hadn't felt like I've gotten much created lately, but then realized I had a bunch I need to get photographed, written up and posted, so apparently I have been more creative then I thought.

This has Bazzill ribbon, Creative Cafe buttons, Fancy Pants Frosted papers, Jillibean Soup journaling spot, EK Success border punch and SRM stickers - Hello Quick Card collection.

On this card I used Bazzill embossed cardstock and buttons, October Afternoon Very Merry paper, Doodlebug sticker and American Crafts rubons.

This card has Bazzill cardstock and ribbons, Creative Cafe buttons, some more Fancy Pants Frosted paper, EK Success border punch, Doodlebug frills and an SRM sentiment sticker - Thinking of You collection.

Here is some more October Afternoon Very Merry paper and a variety of Doodlebug stickers.
*This card will be featuring in Scrapbook Trends Stamping Idea book in the summer 2010*

I went a bit shabby on this one. I used my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and Clearsnap chestnut roan ink for the shabby, Bazzill embossed cardstock and ribbon, Fancy Pants flower rubon, Queen and Company pearls and a Jillibean Soup sentiment stamp.

I Love Pink!

I've never considered myself a girly girl, but when it comes to papercrafts I love bright pink! I used to dress my daughter in this color a lot, but now that she is 7 she is starting to rebel! The Bazzill cardstock already had the embossed shiny pink dots. I used almost every scrap, although my daughter nabbed a bit for her school Valentine's box. I was nice and shared :-)

I also used Kaisercraft Allsorts paper and pearls, an EK Success felt butterfly and a sentiment sticker from SRM - Thinking of You collection.

This cute little monkey is from K and Company, ribbon is The Paper Studio and the sentiment stickers are from SRM - Thinking of You collection. I love that they are clear and easily blend right into your project!
Additionals on this project are Fancy Pants paper (Frosted Collection) and rubon, Kaisercraft pearls, Making Memories mini alpha stickers and a Martha Stewart border punch.

The rubon sentiment is from American Crafts and the green border is Little Yellow Bicycle. The pearls are Basic Grey.
I am sorry if I blinded anyone, but couldn't help myself the other day when I was crafting. And PS. I love the singer Pink too!

Some Recent Pubs

Featured in Paper Crafts Magazine's September/October 09 issue - also as an online project.

There two were featured in CARDS magazine's July 2009 issue.

There two were featured in Crafts N' Things September/October 2009 issue.

I have been procrastinating on getting my new scrap studio organized and I have decided this month it is happening and am even taking a couple days of work to tackle it. (I'm embarassed to admit that it was finished being built this spring). I will eventually post some pictures, but then I'm admitting to world I'm spoiled because the room is huge and I have way too many supplies (oops). Because of Operation Organize, I don't have anything new to share this week, but am sharing some cards that were featured recently in various magazines. My plan is to tackle my desk today - I have been sorting embellies, papers etc already) , so I promise you I will have new things to share by the end of the week!

Mother Card - a la Fancy Pants!

I made this for a Mother's Challenge over at the Fancy Pants blog. Everything is Fancy Pants with the exception of the Core'dinations cardstock. Weird thing is I didn't even use patterned paper on this which is unlike me! I just bought some Kraft Kuts (sooooo cute)and so wanted to use it, but it didn't happen so look for another card with Kraft Kuts coming soon! With Love Buttons, Aged Floral rubons , and Simple Sentiments Creative Cards are the supplies used. The card is clean and simple, but as you can tell if you look at my blog - that seems to be how I roll style wise. And I've come to accept that and realize that's ok :-)

Preschool Grad Layout

Here is another layout I did on Saturday at the crop...I know two layouts in one day...wow! These are pictures from Emma's preschool graduation in May. I may try to scan this as I wasn't happy with the way my pic turned out. I used a Fancy Pants journaling card, Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Rusty Pickle and Doodlebug rubons, Basic Grey sticker, some kraft and yellow cardstock and buttons.
I have some more fun news to share. I made it to the final round in Magistical Memories 2009 Design Team call. They make the best chipboard!! I have shared some creations on earlier posts (and also have a card coming out in Paper Crafts next year using some of it). I will be getting some more chipboard to use for my next entries for the team. Crossing my fingers I get selected!!

Recent Paper Crafts Pubs

Sorry for the lack of recent posts. I'm blaming it on - this seems to be the craziest time of the year for the fam (both kids' bdays, lots of extra curicular activity overlap and reality TV season has started up again!) Also I swear our computer hates me! I was excited to have 3 cards featured in Card Creations Volume 6. This card even got the head spot in the Congratulation section. I also have one featured in Thank You and the Photo card section.
I had this Girl tag featured in their recent Holiday Cards and More Volume 3. I loved both of these magazines and honestly can't say which issue I like better!!

A Trio of Boxes!

I made my first box ever! And it was so easy and fun I made two more! I'm attempting the challenge over at the 3D Design Challenge site this week. This is a brand new site and the people running it are super creative so be sure to check it out often for inspiration. The boxes measure 2 x 3 1/2. I also busted out my Scor-Pal for the first time.

*Easter Box removed for publication in Paper Crafts Cards and Gifts published Spring/Summer 2009.

I threw in a little something extra with this one - a card! I used DCWV Baby Boy Nursery stack and Craft N Craftin' stickers. I think those stickers are just adorable! I will have to hide this little box from my daughter or I know her...she'll claim as her own!

This little wedding box could be used for decor at a bridal shower or even at a wedding. I used Reminisce paper (it's hard to see in the paper, but there are glitter hearts on it), Fancy Pants playing card (this ended up being the same size as the box - happy accident), Paper Studio bling and some ribbon scraps.

This could be used for a baby shower or even as nursery decor. Some more DCWV Baby Boy Nursery stack and Paper Studio brad and chipboard circle.

I'm teaching the 5 year old Sunday School class this year, so I'm planning to use these boxes for a craft project. Probably even more than once!

P.S. Found out that 2 of my cards will be in the January 09 issue of Cards. Sweet!

Be sure to sign up for my drawing!

Baby Card with some Sass!

This ended up not being your typical baby card, but I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. We'll say this is for a well-to-do baby...since it's got bling on it! I used Bazzill cardstock, Daisy D's Spring Blossoms paper, Fancy Pants playing card, Prima bling and I used my Martha Stewart punch on some Basic Grey paper. Size is 4 1/2 x 6.

CPS Sketch #78 - Baby Bird Card

Don't faint...but I got out my sewing machine! I've had it since the dawn of time and it's in my scrap room, but a bunch of stuff sits in front of it and to be honest I don't really know how to run it! When I try to use it, I usually end up mad! But after getting my hubby's assistance on how to get it threaded I was good to go...now I remember why I keep him around...lol. I thought the shabby look of this Daisy D's Spring Blossoms paper needed some stitching. Please don't look too closely at how well the stitching was done :-) I also using a Making Memories chipboard bird and ribbon and Fancy Pants playing card. Size is 4x6 1/2. I made for this week's sketch at CPS.
Also be sure to sign up for my giveaway!

Use Your Stash July Challenge - Use Your Stamps!

Using Clearsnap Chestnut Roan (my all-time fave ink) I stamped the turtle onto Scenic Route Asheland Avenue from the Ashville line, added some bling from The Paper Studio and then cut him out. I adhered him to a quote card I cut from Fancy Pants Sweet Spring line - I love those cards! I stamped the Bazzill card base and the Prima flower with a flower from KI Memories Blooms stamp set. I adhered the flower with a pop dot and added bling to center as well. Turtle stamp is from the Kim Hughes Collection of Cornish Heritage Farms. Size is 4x6.

I stamped Hot Off the Press Flight of Fancy butterfly stamps onto embossed swirl Doodlebug paper to add some texture. I then bent the wings slightly and added pop dots for more dimension. The other stamp I used was the sentiment and that is from the Kim Hughes Collection of Cornish Heritage Farms. Paper is Rusty Pickle Pop Star and bling is from The Paper Studio. Size is 5x7

I made these for the July Challenge over at Use Your Stash. The turtle and the sentiment stamp I got in a RAK (along with some other cool goodies) from Kim Hughes. Be sure to check out her blog. Her stamps are so adorable and I see that she is coming out with a cool paper line as well. I wish I had one teaspoon of her talent!

I've already got some other ideas for that turtle floating around in my head including a card that says - You're a Hero in a Half Shell!

CPS Sketch #72

Finally finding a little time to do this week's sketch. This week has just been nuts with househunting (I think we've decided to stay where we are :-), tball games, TaeKwenDo, school open house and school starting Wednesday. Also went to Balloons and Toons (the kickoff to the hot air balloon season in our town). Anyhoo, I struggled a little - I think because I started with the flower die cuts and then had trouble finding things to go with them. The die cuts and fabric brad are from K and Company, flower playing card is Fancy Pants, metal flower from Paper Studio, rubons from Scrapworks, green cardstock from Archiver's and kraft cardstock from DMD. I inked everything with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan. I cut the middle flower in half to give it a different look and also pop dotted behind it and curled the edges a bit. The sentiment says Thank You For All You Do (in case it's too small to read). Size of the card is 8 1/2 x 4.

Daisy D's Card and Gift Box - Giftmaker

This is one of my fave projects, so I was excited when it was picked up to be in Giftmaker's June issue. Unfortunately Giftmaker decided not to continue the magazine (bummed because it was a very cool mag and one of the first mags to ever publish me), so I was waiting to hear what it would be in. It is to be featured on their E Patterns site along with an altered frame and a bracelet that were also to be in their June issue. The paper and buttons are both from the Autumn Collection of Daisy D's. I won the buttons at an Archiver's crop and have used them all up :-( Chipboard flowers are Fancy Pants, stamp is Heidi Swapp, paint is either Plaid or Making Memories, cardstock is Archiver's and ink is Clearsnap Chestnut Roan. I bought the paper mache box at Walmart.
P.S. I see it's after midnight so happy bday to me :-)

2 Sketches 4 You Card - Kazan #4 Sketch

*Card will be featured in October 2009 issue of Crafts N Things*

I'm home with the kids today and they are in a heated game of Hungry Hippos so I was able to get this card made. I used this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. After I got it done, I realized I deviated quite a bit, but am very happy with the way the card turned out. Embossed white paper is Doodlebug, transparency and quote paper are Fancy Pants, jewels are Paper Studio, Doodlebug and Darice. Size is 5x7.

Anniversary Guest Book

Here is the guestbook I made for the anniversary party on Saturday. I think it measures about 12 inches tall and 12 inches wide when opened. The chipboard album is by Melissa Frances. The chipboard flowers are Fancy Pants, green brads are Paper Studio, white flowers are Prima ribbon cut up, rubons are DCWV and paint is Plaid - Bright Magenta and Bright Yellow. The bright yellow was nearly the death of me! I applied 7 or 8 coats (the whole 2 oz bottle of craft paint) to the album. Yellow does not cover well, but in the end it worked out just fine :-) These were the colors used for the decorations at the party. On the inside I stamped flowers on the pages. Flowers are foam stamps from Maya Road, yellow ink Pretty Color, pink ink unknown and green ink Versa Color.

In other scrap news...

Check out the CPS Sketch for last week #71 - I was one of the top picks! I was really happy with this card, so I'm glad others thought it was cool too.

Eye-Lets Etc. is having a challenge this month. You need to use eyelets on a layout, card etc. to get your name entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate. Deadline is July 30th and you can enter as many times as you want. You can find the link here.

Got my Memory Makers Idea Gallery '08 magazine right before we left for the holiday weekend. I thought it wasn't coming out till the fall, so I was excited to see it - in particular because one of the layouts is about my Grandma Hansen (I married a Hansen and my mom was also a Hansen so our kids have a lot of Grandma and Grandpa Hansens!) that passed away a year ago July 3rd. You can find it on page 40. I also have another one called "God Guys" on page 78 . I will post the actual layouts to the blog once I'm able.

Di Hickman Sketch - June #3

I feel like I've been in a creative card slump lately so I'm hitting the sketches hard. I'm having a lot of fun! It's a good starting point and sometimes you end up sticking to the sketch pretty literally and sometimes you deviate! I have been checking out Di's blog on a regular basis and gave a go at last Wednesday's sketch. My card is a little funky so beware! Fancy Pants Playing Card, Prima Flowers, DCWV brads, Basic Grey paper, Paper Studio bling, of course my Dymo lable maker and a key I found in the junk drawer.
