Holiday Hodge Podge

*This card will be featured in Scrapbook Trends Holiday issue - Fall 2010.

These were made with Basic Grey Eerie, Making Memories Spook Alley and Little Yellow Bicycle papers and Making Memories velvet stickers and embellishments all from the Spook Alley collection.

This was made with Making Memories Spook Alley flocked paper, ABC stickers and cream webbed packaging and a Basic Grey Eerie felt sticker. I love to use packaging on my projects!

This was made with Making Memories Mistloe collection. I won most of these goodies on Paper Crafts blog, sweet!

The papers are from Pink Paislee Amber Road. Mini ABC's are Jenni Bowlin and pearls are Basic Grey.

This was made with Bo Bunny papers, Queen and Company brads and Pink Paislee ABC stickers.
Here are a variety of different holiday cards I've made recently for calls. Please excuse the fact that they don't make a lot of sense since Valentine's Day is around the corner!

A Smattering of Cards

These two were made with the Pink Paislee's Amber Road collection. The little photo corner punch is from EK Success. I have a feeling I will be using it alot!

These two were made with papers from Scrap Within Reach. The rubons are American Crafts.

I made this card with product from Autumn Leaves. I won this cute school kit at a crop recently and love it!

You'll have to pardon that some aren't in "season", but that's the way things are in the paper crafting world sometimes.
I am headed to a 15 hour crop tomorrow and should hopefully have all kinds of things to share soon!

That Scrappy Girl December Kit - Cards and a Giveaway!

Here are a couple cards I made using December's Mistletoe and More kit. The first card I made layering Bazzill cardstock (adding pop dots behind some for dimension), using some Elle's Studio paper and die cut sentiment and a piece of paper from the Jenni Bowlin mini album. The second card I used Pink Paislee paper and a die cut.

That Scrappy Girl is giving away some Elle's Studio this week over on their blog. Be sure to stop by - the drawing is on Thursday.

Sketch Challenge - That Scrappy Girl

It is in the 20's here in Iowa today...a shock from the 60's we had just a few days ago - so I had a hard time getting out from under the covers this morning. I used the December kit for my take on Julie's December sketch. I made a card and you can make any type of project to compete in the monthly sketch challenges - layout, card, home decor...anything goes! See this recent post for all of the information and remember it is due January 6th.
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Quick and Easy Halloween Card

*This is my post over on the Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs blog this month*

Every year October seems to be one of the craziest months of the year for our family. Soccer and football are wrapping up, my son turned 9 on the 19th (Happy Birthday Parker!) and there are Halloween activities galore in our town. In honor of that, I made this quick and easy Halloween card. Any busy Mom (or Dad) can easily whip this up between supper dishes and soccer practice :-)

I started with two chipboard pieces from the Perfectly Shaped Concave Build-A-Book Set. I used my Scor-It to create a crease on both pieces and added glittered brads 1/2 inch apart on the card edge to create the card base. I cut a piece of patterned Halloween paper slightly smaller than the card shape and adhered. A fuzzy Boo Halloween sticker, a bling ghost and one more glittered brad complete the card. Super easy!

Trick or Treat, Smell My Feet!

Here is a Halloween card I made with the Boo To You October Mini Kit over at That Scrappy Girl. I used the Pink Paislee Twilight papers (love that these papers are a touch vintagey but still with a lot of great color), added some sparkle with the brads and I used one of my favorite go-to techniques - fussy cutting. On this card I cute the 31 from the patterned paper and added some 3D dots behind it for dimension.

Also over at That Scrappy Girl's blog there is a Technique Tuesday giveaway and the October sketch challenge where you can win some Jillibean Soup goodies. Be sure to stop by!

Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs Stick Ons

I am a flower nut when it comes to scrapbooking. (Real flowers though are another story. I hate to garden and I can't seem to keep the houseplants alive either). When deciding what project to work on this month, these Flower Garden Stick Ons immediately caught my eye. These were extremely easy to use and when I decided I didn't want the flowers straight up and down, I curved the stems without any problem. I also added a chipboard circle and pearls to their centers. Although I chose not to alter the color on these, you can easily use alcohol inks, pens, paints or markers to change their color and appearance. I even have 2 left over for another project!

This is a picture of me and my daughter Emma (who just turned 7 last week) this summer at her first concert - Taylor Swift and Keith Urban. She loved it and stayed awake almost the entire time!

(This was my monthly post over at the Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs blog today. The papers used were Pink Paislee Vintage Moon and ABC stickers, brads & ribbons were also Pink Paislee.)

My Noodle

Noodle is one of the many nicknames I call Emma. I also shorten it to "Nood", and I'm sure some people that hear me think...what did she just say? Here is she all gussied up in her recital costume with her makeup and hair done. She is a bit of a tomboy, so the hair and makeup were no small feat! The lighting is a little off in the picture, but you know what...that's ok! I just love her cheesey grin in this picture.

(This layout originally was not on white paper, but I put against it to take the picture and kind of like it with the white too).

Papers/Frame Die Cut/ABC stickers: Pink Paislee
Chipboard Flower Sticker: K and Company
Paper Frills (pink): Doodlebug
Rubons (birds): Glitz Designs (I absolutely love these birds. But I wouldn't let myself hoard)
Size: 10x10 without mounting on white background

Paper Crafts Card Creations Volume 7 and 225 Cards and Gifts Special Issues

Here is one of my 2 little ole' cards that are in Card Creations Volume 7. I honestly can't believe how many cards are in here! I took it to look at during Parker's soccer practice last night and didn't make it all the way through there were that many to look at. This card uses the Pink Paislee Pop Fashion line. It came together quickly. I was at a crop and people were starting to pack up, so I hurriedly whipped out just one more card. I almost didn't submit it as I thought it was too boring!

I don't think I ever shared this little Bunny gift box (just pretend like the bunny card isn't there!) that was in their 225 Cards and Gifts special issue. You can find the 2-4-6-8 template here. Papers are from Die Cuts With a View, one of their nursery lines.

I have some half finished things I'm hoping become finished things this weekend. We'll see if that shakes out or not. If it does, I'll have some more to share soon!
Hope everyone is staying cool. Here in Iowa the heat has been brutal. Or when it's not sunny and humid, it's storming like crazy. Parker says HOT stands for Humid Out Tonight. Thank goodness for AC! On the opposite end of the spectrum I had a Christmas card picked up for publication today. Jerry Seinfeld would call that Bizzaro World type stuff :-)

Recent Pub Card Shares

These two were selected for the May issue of CARDS.

This mini card was in the April issue of CARDS.

This was in the March issue of CARDS.

This was selected for the May issue of Scrapbook Trends. From what I can tell when I saw a copy at the store is that is must not have made the final cut. Oh well..I'll share anyway!

**Card will be featured in the Paper Crafts Card Creations Vol 7 coming out in June 2009.

Not much to share but here are a couple of very simple cards I made using Pink Paislee's Pop Fashion. I made these a couple weeks ago at a crop. I need to spruce that cloud one up a bit with some bling or something!

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan #7 and Ingrid

*This card will be featured in the May 2009 issue of CARDS magazine.
Kazan #7

Ingrid

I tackled both sketches over there this week. I made them at a 12 hr crop today. While there I went outside to take pics so I could get posted tonight. It was windy and they kept blowing over so I propped them up in the back of the van. At least the scrappers inside couldn't see me...they'd wonder who that nut is outside taking pics of her cards!

I used my goodies I won from Emma's Paperie. I even made a layout with it too, but you'll have to wait until tomorrow to see it - darn wind! I love the colors of the Pink Paislee Pop Fashion line. I used papers and Topsiders (chipboard piece and stickers). Also used Prima flowers and bling, American Crafts Thickers, KI Memories sticker, Paper Studio button and jewels.

Be sure to sign up for my RAK!
