October Afternoon Fly A Kite

Here are a few cards I made using October Afternoon's Fly A Kite collection. I love that the colors are not gender specific. I used papers, rubons, stickers, even some of the packaging! If you want to pick up some Fly A Kite, be sure to stop over at That Scrappy Girl. It's storming outside so I'd better get of the computer, so this will be a short post tonight.

I Love Bright Colors

...can you tell??? I have a couple cards to share today using the Deal of the Month (Blue Kit) over at Creative Charms. I am a butterfly junkie so of course my favorite part of this entire kit are the felt butterflies. I also used Gradient Gem Stickers to add some shine to the butterflies and used the ribbon as "grass" on this card. On both cards the papers I used are from Echo Park's Sweet Summertime collection available from That Scrappy Girl and I reached for SRM sentiment stickers.

On my second card I once again reached for the Gradient Gem Stickers and also added one of the super cute Flower Brads. I consider myself a simple project kind of girl most of the time and I love how gems can give your project that extra oomph!

This kit comes in both blue and pink and is 70 % off and available for only $6.99. Be sure to stop by and grab one (or two) before August is over!

Blue Blooming Garden (12 pcs)

That Scrappy Girl has the paper pack on sale for $10 in the store so be sure to pick one up for yourself!

Sassafras and SRM Sentiments...here's my CKC reject card!

I sometimes feel like a one trick pony, but I just love patterned papers where I can fussycut the patterns/pictures out. That Scrappy Girl's Sassafras Lass's Nerdy Bird papers are great for this. The flowers are from patterned paper and the "grass" and sun are stickers. The sun had longer rays, but I cut them down to fit on the card. I also find myself having my embellies hang off the edge of cards lately too. This card I made for a challenge at the CKC crop. We had to use something from out goodie bag (I chose the Queen and Co photo turns and the piece of white cardstock) It didn't get the love, but I still like it anyway! I also reached for another SRM Sentiment sticker...I'm about out I've used them so much!

Echo Park Sweet Summertime and SRM Stickers

I'm loving the new Echo Park collection Sweet Summertime. I was able to play with it while at the CKC crop this weekend in Des Moines. I went with Mimi (That Scrappy Girl) and some of her scrappy friends. I took a few classes, did a little shopping and even a little cropping! Be sure to stop over at That Scrappy Girl's store and pick up this paper pack before it's gone. I'm guessing it won't last long! The sentiments stickers I keep reaching for are from SRM Stickers. The tiny alphas on the sun card are My Little Shoebox.

A Few That Scrappy Girl Cards - October Afternoon, Sassafras Lass and SRM Stickers

I've had these cards made for awhile and snapped some photos that I didn't like the coloring on. Then didn't seem to get around to taking new ones. Here they finally are. I had one more to share, but it was picked up for a magazine...yipee! These first two cards were made with the October Afternoon Fly A Kite collection. The mini alphas are also October Afternoon...I love mini alphas - they are a staple in my stash. The sentiments stickers are from SRM Stickers. The last card was made using Sassafras Lass's Apple Jack collection. The little strip under the star is from the scalloped paper age that comes on all of their papers. I am also a sucker for scalloped stuff! The October Afternoon and Sassafras Lass papers can be found at That Scrappy Girl. I hope that everyone has a great 3 day Memorial weekend!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

It's NSD and I'm not cropping :-( That's ok. I'm planning to surf the net today visiting scrap blogs, maybe create a card or two and probably just procrastinate some more on cleaning up my scrap room. I have a lot of things to share today. First is some scrappy news! I have been asked to join the design team at Momenta. They have a variety of fun stickers, jewels papers, chipboard and all kinds of goodies. In a couple weeks or so I will have some projects to share with you. They are also running a NSD special for the month of May - 20 % off any order. Just enter 20offinmay at checkout. Also be sure to follow them on Facebook and Twitter so you hear about giveaways, new products etc.

Here are a couple cards I made for That Scrappy Girl using October Afternoon's Fly A Kite Collection. Extras are Basic Grey buttons and brads and October Afternoon ABC stickers. She has a lot of new things in the store and also has a Cosmo Cricket giveaway on the blog. In honor of NSD she also has free shipping thru today if you enter the code NSD2010. I also got the chance to play with October Afternoon some more last night at a crop, so I will be back again with more projects.
Also need to share my April project for Midnight Oil Scrapbook and Designs. I used some of the Twirly Gigs Stick Ons. They were already blue so I didn't need to color them, but I cut the long tail on the long one to add a 3rd little "twirly" to my card. The Twirly Gigs are very versatile! The papers are October Afternoon's Night Light and buttons are Basic Grey.

Jillibean Soup Cards - Chicken Noodle and Egg Drop - Yummy!

Here are a variety of cards I made for That Scrappy Girl. These products are available in the store and she is running a NSD special until May 1st - FREE SHIPPING! Just use the code NSD2010 during checkout. I used Chicken Noodle Soup papers and stickers on this card set. I used the edge I cut off from the journaling block on my envelope, so that I could tie everything together. The kraft card base and envelope are also Jillibean Soup. The buttons are from Basic Grey.

On this card and envie set I used Egg Drop Soup papers and stamps. I paper pieced his body using more of the paper. The kraft card base and envelope and the Journaling Sprouts are also from Jillibean Soup.
And last, a little card in honor of my son, who's favorite animal is a pig :-) I used Chicken Noodle Soup and cut elements from the different papers.

Sassafras Lass - Nerdy Bird, Apple Jack and some Felties!

I got a chance to play with Sassafras Lass's newer collections Nerdy Bird and Apple Jack this weekend. These collections, along with the fun Felties can be found at That Scrappy Girl. What I love about Sassafras Lass is that you can mix the different collections together so easily - like I did on the layout. And of course I am never one to pass up using bright colored product either! I even went a little environment friendly and used some of the packaging from the Felties on the Thank You card.

I am loving this collection! Love the colors, the cute little animals, the banner stickers and all of the elements I can cut from the papers! All of the Sassafras Lass Nerdy Bird papers and stickers can be found at That Scrappy Girl. The mini ABC stickers are from Jenni Bowlin. Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl

*Card removed for publication in the November '10 issue of Cards Magazine*
I received some new Material Girl this weekend from That Scrappy Girl and dug right in! I was cropping with my sisters and some friends and actually got a few things done besides talk, eat and shop. It is National Craft Month so I decided to make a wall hanging for my craft room. I used a piece of acrylic from Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs as the base and then used various items from Cosmo Cricket's Material Girl. I also had time to make a couple cards as well. This collection is super cute, so I am sure I will have more things to share soon!
(That Scrappy Girl is busy adding all kinds of new products from Cosmo Cricket, Sassafras Lass and others so if you don't see it in the store yet, it's coming soon :-)

Creative Cuts and More Match Box

I wanted to invite everyone to the Creative Cuts and More blog hop that starts on Monday the 8th. There will be a variety of projects and inspiration so please stop by! I had the honor of being a Guest Designer for them in March and will have more projects to share during the hop. I made this little Valentiney/Lovey box using the Match Box Large Die Cut. (You can get them in a variety of colors) These are very easy to assemble and I recommend using the Killer Red Tacky Tape. The paper I used is from Elle's Studio XOXO collection. You can find this at That Scrappy Girl and comes in a 6x6 pack - a great size for cards and small projects. Although still works great on layouts too!

Some Rejects

Here are a few cards I made for some recent calls. They didn't get the love, so now I am sharing them with you. This first card uses papers from That Scrappy Girl's November kit featuring the Cosmo Cricket's Nutmeg collection. The cardstock is from Creatively Green. Sorry about the cheesy pun!
This card uses Cosmo Cricket's Early Bird collection. The cork teapot (came in a package of 3 I think) was from the $1 spot either at Target or Michael's. I'm such a sucker for the $1 areas!

This card was made using the October Afternoon Road Map collection also available at That Scrappy Girl. Lately I've noticed I'm going thru a phase of having my elements hang over the edge of my cards. I am such a rebel!

This last card I made uses Kaisercraft's Loire Valley collection. Rubon is from Basic Grey. I also made an Anniversary card out of the same line, but have somehow managed to misplace it. I can't imagine losing anything in my craft pit, I mean room? (insert sarcasm)
Challenge Alert! There is also a "Love" challenge going on over at That Scrappy Girl. You can win some Elle's Studio or Maya Road goodies. The winners will be announced on February 24th.

That Scrappy Girl December Kit - Cards and a Giveaway!

Here are a couple cards I made using December's Mistletoe and More kit. The first card I made layering Bazzill cardstock (adding pop dots behind some for dimension), using some Elle's Studio paper and die cut sentiment and a piece of paper from the Jenni Bowlin mini album. The second card I used Pink Paislee paper and a die cut.

That Scrappy Girl is giving away some Elle's Studio this week over on their blog. Be sure to stop by - the drawing is on Thursday.

Sketch Challenge - That Scrappy Girl

It is in the 20's here in Iowa today...a shock from the 60's we had just a few days ago - so I had a hard time getting out from under the covers this morning. I used the December kit for my take on Julie's December sketch. I made a card and you can make any type of project to compete in the monthly sketch challenges - layout, card, home decor...anything goes! See this recent post for all of the information and remember it is due January 6th.
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Look Who's Talking Kit - Jillibean Soup

Here is a gift bag and card I made with That Scrappy Girl's November's add on kit - Look Who's Talking. I will confess that I snitched the Jillibean ABC's from the main kit, but any alpha set you have in your own stash would work just fine too. Owls are "in" with papercrafting and these Jillibean Soup owls are super cute. I put pop dots behind the owls I cut from the paper and also added some Clearsnap Chesnut Roan chalk ink (it's my go to ink anytime I need a brown) to the corrugated alpha to distress them a bit.

I had some cardstock scraps with a crease left from when I made the friend card and so I left that crease at the top to give this simple little card a little something special.

That Scrappy Girl is also giving away some TaDa Studio goodies on this post and there is also a sketch challenge due December 1st where you can win some Cosmo Cricket.
Also a heads up that there is a giveaway of a variety of Urban Lily papers over on their blog. Very cute papers!

Be sure to check out the giveaway over at That Scrappy Girl's blog to win some cute Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg chipboard. Drawing is this Friday, so act quickly!
