Some Echo Park Cards - That Scrappy Girl

Here are a couple more cards I made recently using Sweet Summertime by Echo Park. (The only extras are a Hambly rubon and a K and Company stickers). I love bright colors so this is one of my favorite collections so far this year. You receive papers and matching stickers in this collection pack. That Scrappy Girl has the paper pack on sale for $10 in the store so be sure to pick one up for yourself!

Sunglasses Required?

Warning: These cards came out a little bright!

This was made for a sketch challenge over at Paper Trey Ink. I have some of their products on my wish list! The textured cardstock is Dotted Swiss from Bazzill (I just got it last weekend and am loving it!), some Tinkering Ink paper, Hambly transparency, Kaiser gems, and a Colorbok sticker.

This card was made for a challenge over at the uber talented Melissa Phillip's blog. It was based on a bright colored, fun and funky purse. I love bright colors so this was right up my alley. Doodlebug flocked blue paper, some older Creative Imaginations green paper, Around the Block sentiment paper, Prima, Imaginisce and Making Memories flowers, blinged out with some MAMBI gems. P.S. Thank you Kim for the Imaginisce goodies!

She Might Need Some Makeup Tips?

I made this for the monthly sketch challenge over at the Rusty Pickle blog. I used Rusty Pickle's Pirate Princess papers and stickers and also used some Pop Star stickers. Extras include Prima Bling, Petaloo flowers (just had to buy those today and the crop and I used them all!), my EK Success Threading Water punch, Around the Block label maker and tape and some Bazzill Bling cardstock. (You may want to click on the layout for a better view) This happened after Emma asked if she could wear a little lipstick. It was the bright red recital lipstick, but silly me said sure. I didn't realize it also involved the skin around the mouth...I didn't think I'd ever get all of that off! I think she looks a little bit like the Joker..don't tell her that!

The next two cards were made with sketches from Page Plans - here and here. On the first card I used Graphic 45 and Basic Grey papers, Fancy Pants rubons and Petaloo flower. I inked everything with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan. The second care is made with Doodlebug flocked paper (circles) and some kraft cardstock, a couple of Hambly transparancies, some Making Memories stickers, Darice gem and another Petaloo flower. I love the bright colors on this one! (Page Plans will be having a contest the first week of February so if you like my cards, feel free to give me a vote :-)
I made this one with the January sketch from My Sketch World. I must be into green lately! I used Graphic 45 and SEI Papers, a Tim Holtz ticket (thanks Roni!), more Petaloo flowers, Paper Studio flowers brads, K and Company fabric brad, American Crafts rubon and sticker. I distressed edges and then also inked with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan.

Last but not least is a non-sketchy card! I did make it for a challenge though...I actually ended up double dipping as it qualifies for both Moxie Fab and Kim Kesti's challenge this week. I used Hambly transparency, Doodlebug glitter cardstock (I was so shimmery by the end of the crop today!), MAMBI gems, Joann's felt, Die Cuts With A View glittered paper and Around the Block tape and label maker.

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura #7

Here my take on this week's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You. I deviated a bit! I got together with my two sisters and my two friends (who are also sisters) at Archiver's last night. I started on this one at the crop and then finished up with the glitter at home today. Bringing glitter to a pretty packed table at a crop...not a good idea!!!

I used some Doodlebug glitter/embossed paper and a Heidi Swapp chipboard flower that both fell into my basket last night. I also used a Hambly transparency, Paper Studio bling, Archiver's cardstock and Doodlebug glitter and rubons. To apply the glitter I used Modge Podge and then added a second layer of glitter on top of the first using more Modge Podge since I wanted a little more color. Tip: my favorite way to get the glitter back into the tiny little Doodlebug bottle is to use one of those cheapy paper plates from Walmart - you know the kind where you need 5 just to have it support a hamurger! I then fold the plate to get it to funnel back in. I also hid the glue dots for the transparency behind the flower and in the corner behind the swirl. Card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. This card is brighter in person.
Don't forget I'm drawing on Monday for my RAK!

CPS Sketch #71

This card feature bright colors which I love. I'm trying to get outside this box and do more muted colors as well (see some of my next cards for this). I used a Paperbilities (DMD) 5x7 white cardstock base (love these use them alot!), Berry Sweet paper, a Hambly screen print, Doodlebug gems and Die Cuts With a View sticker. Size of the card is 5x7. This weeks sketch can be found here.
ETA: This was picked as a Reader's Spotlight :-)
This will also be featured in the December 2008 issue of Cards Magazine!
