Creative Cuts and More Mega Recipe Blog Hop - Day 2

Welcome to the second day of the Creative Cuts & More Mega Recipe Blog Hop which features the Apron Holiday Treats Recipe Kit. There are 24 designers who will be showcasing wonderful pages and yummy Holiday Treat recipes. As part of the celebration CC&M will be having a great sale. For the next six days, they will offer 20% off the entire store. But act quickly as this sale will end on Nov 14th. Make sure you enter this code recipebloghop2009 during checkout. As a continuing part of the celebration, CC&M will be giving away one of these awesome kits. Here is the twist – go through the blog hop and leave comments for each designer. After you have finished the blog hop, return to the Creative Cuts and More blog and instead of leaving a comment, you need to share a recipe to have a chance at winning the kit. Share the recipe on your blog and link it back and get another chance to win the kit.
A little bit about my Apron Kit album I created. I am a simple crafter and an even simple baker, so I kept my project and recipes just that...simple! I put all the recipes on tags, which tuck into the pockets of the apron. I took a picture of how one looks in the apron pocket and then took pictures of each recipe outside of the apron, so you can see the recipes better (click on the picture if needed for a better view) If your recipes are more complicated and need more space, you can always use the back of the tag. This kit was very easy to use and I completed in only a few hours. The only extras I used were a few brads, a couple more pieces of ribbon, some ABC stickers and a Martha Stewart border punch to make the ruffle. My favorite recipe in this book is Granny's Fudge. I used to spend a lot of time with my Great Grandma (Granny), I was even named after her, and she would often let me help her make this fudge. Now head on over to Lisa's blog to see her cute Apron Kit album. If you started at my blog first, please head to the Creative Cuts and More blog to start at the beginning of the hop. If you get lost, I have also listed the blogs of everyone at the end of this post. You can also see who was on the blog hop on Day 1 and used the Treasured Family Recipes Kit, by reading my previous blog post.

Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs

I have a lot more to share of this Acrylic Easel - so be sure to stop over at the MOSD blog today to see the entire project. I found this project not only fun to do, but also very quick and easy. I used the Clearly Designed Easel along with some brown sprial rings all from Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs. The papers are from The Paper Company Woodland Whimsy that I picked up last weekend during our girls' scrappy weekend. I find using papers and embellies from the same line, also help to speed things up too. Be sure to look around the MOSD blog. There are all kind of fun projects being posted.

Family Pics Mini Album - Clear Scraps/Pebbles Inc.

Acrylic Mini Album – Clear Scraps Flower Tab Album - won this on their blog!
Papers: Pebbles Inc. Skipping Along
Chipboard Pieces: Pebbles Inc. Chips - they came in a chip bag - too cute!
Gems: Darice, The Paper Studio
Glitter: Doodlebug, Tree House Studio
Foam ABC Stickers: American Crafts Thickers
Ribbon: Maya Road
Glue Pad: Martha Stewart
Glue Pen: Sakura
Size: 8x8

The acrylic album had a piece of the petal on each page. I used a glue pad to apply different glitter colors to each petal. I also added glitter to some of the papers and chipboard pieces using my glue pen. The album came with jump rings, but I used a piece of ribbon instead to tie the album together.
I apologize for some weird shadings. The neighbors probably think I'm a nutcase as I'm trying to put tissue paper out in our front yard with rocks during an extremely windy day and then trying to take pictures of it...lol...

I made this at a crop yesterday - whew just in time for Father's Day! I used the tiny index prints that came with a batch of digital pics I had printed. I've never made some a small album before, but am very happy with the way it turned out. Click on each picture for a better view.

A Bottle of Primas and a box of Glue Dots Later...Here is Miss Emma's 1st Mini Album!

You go girl! She was picked as a Best of the Blogosphere over at Card of the Week!

She was in a creative mood this morning and asked if she could do an album. I picked up a bunch of Colorbok Crayola chipboard albums for $1 at Michael's recently and am trying to tell myself I don't need to hoard! She has been bugging me to make more crafts lately and my room is still in shambles and so I've been stalling. She especially has been asking for the glitter! On this project she did 95 percent of the work herself. I cut the pictures out for her (although she picked out all of the pictures, decided where in the album she wanted them and how I should trim them) and cut and tied the ribbons on for her (although she picked them out). Poor girl can't tie her shoes very well yet, although she's reading at an early 3rd grade level - go figure! She did all of the painting, blinging and decorating. As you can see - she's even wearing some of the paint :-) Maybe I'm just biased, but I think she rocked the mini album...especially for only being 6 years old!

Supplies include:
Chipboard Album: Colorbok Crayloa
Paints: All Plaid, except purple Making Memories
Gems: Darice
Flowers: Prima
ABC Stickers: Doodlebug
Glue Dots
Size: approx 6x6
(click on pictures for a better look - I also included some of her during her creative process. Ignore the disaster in the background!)

Here are a couple others things she made last night on her own. (She gets more done in 2 days, then I've made in weeks...lol) The layout/drawing is for one of her boyfriends, Nathan. She had asked me if she could have a bottle of Primas leaves. I wasn't paying attention and said, sure. Half of them ended up on the layout, but I'm trying to be ok with that :-) I'd had them forever and hadn't used them, so it was a freeing experience! I'm actually hoping I get to keep the layout, as I want to hang it in our scrap room. She also decorated a baby wipe container so that I can hold some of my trinkets. (The polka dotted curtains are what I picked for my scrap room.)

Scrap Within Reach Full Bloom Mini Album - Puddin Face

My daughter was around 3 when these taken. She has always been messy - if she's eating, playing, crafting, anything! Often when she would eat pudding and other messy foods we would actually make her sit in her diaper. I'm pretty sure it's in her hair in these pictures!

I sassed up my album a bit with glitter. I ended up going a little crazy and so my pictures also have a bit of glitter since there is just so much on the album. I used a glue pen to outline the flowers, letters and draw designs on some of the papers and then I applied the glitter to it. I love glitter, but then I wear it for days after!

Papers/Die Cut ABC's: Scrap Within Reach Full Bloom
Chipboard Album (6x6 inches): Creative Imaginations (4 pages front/back - 8 total)
Flowers: Prima, Petaloo, Imaginesce
Glue Pen: Sakura
Glitter: Doodlebug
Ribbons: Portafolia, May Arts, Others
Jewels: Doodlebug, Petaloo
Brads: Queen and Co.
P.S. This got a BOB (Best of Blogosphere) mention over at Card of the Week!

Scrap Within Reach Full Bloom Mini Album

(Click on each picture for a better view)
I made this mini album with the Full Bloom line. I'm a flower nut, so of course I'm loving this paper! I also used a Clear Scraps chipboard album. The album actually should be horizontal, but I decided to punch the hole at the top and open it that way. Glad I have my Crop-a-dile! I had these pictures of Emma from last spring and since she was in purple...the papers were perfect! She has since cut her hair short (sniff sniff), but I remember this day she was a posing fool, so I took advantage of her good mood and snapped a bunch of pictures. I was excited this line and others were at my LSS Memory Bound last weekend!

In other Scrap Within Reach news:

There is an adorable kit to purchase over at Scrap Within Reach using the Industrial Park line. Also if you place an order for $20 or more between March 8 -March 15th you get free shipping. I'm a girl who loves my free shipping!

They also now have a monthly kit club for purchase and right now if you and a friend join you can get into the drawing for a free May kit.

And last but not least they have a monthly newsletter so be sure to sign up on their site.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend! It has finally warmed up here - but of course that means everything is mud. Tomorrow my Mom and Dad are coming down to help paint my scrap room and do some other cleaning/organizing on the rest of the house. I will be glad when the house remodel is over. When half your house is ripped apart, it's hard to want to keep the other half nice all the time.
ETA: This was selected as a BOB (Best of the Blogosphere) over at Card of the Week - cool! Also selected as Craft of the Week at She's Crafty. Also cool!
