Other goodies used include American Crafts rubon, Martha Stewart border punch, Bazzill ribbon, Mark Richards pearls, Kaisecraft pearls (teal), Doodlebug frills and Making Memories diecut.

Scrapbook Trends Sketch Challenge

For some reason I'm getting an error when I try to get into the Scrapbook Trends blog to link up the sketch picture and post, but Jennifer posted a sketch to use for a layout or card so I decided to give it a try. I used the Chatterbox Together line from That Scrappy Girl on this card and am a little bummed that I'm almost out of the felt embellies now :-( Also used a sentiment sticker from Bazzill and Karen Foster.

Some Recent Pubs

Featured in Paper Crafts Magazine's September/October 09 issue - also as an online project.

There two were featured in CARDS magazine's July 2009 issue.

There two were featured in Crafts N' Things September/October 2009 issue.

I have been procrastinating on getting my new scrap studio organized and I have decided this month it is happening and am even taking a couple days of work to tackle it. (I'm embarassed to admit that it was finished being built this spring). I will eventually post some pictures, but then I'm admitting to world I'm spoiled because the room is huge and I have way too many supplies (oops). Because of Operation Organize, I don't have anything new to share this week, but am sharing some cards that were featured recently in various magazines. My plan is to tackle my desk today - I have been sorting embellies, papers etc already) , so I promise you I will have new things to share by the end of the week!

This was in the March issue of CARDS.

This was selected for the May issue of Scrapbook Trends. From what I can tell when I saw a copy at the store is that is must not have made the final cut. Oh well..I'll share anyway!

American Crafts Thickers Birthday Card Challenge

Who doesn't have an addiction to Thickers? I will fully admit that I do! When I saw this challenge on the American Crafts Blog, I knew it wouldn't be a struggle to use a Thicker or too. I debated foam, vinyl, puffy, glitter, chipboard, foam, felt.... I ended up using Vinyl Poolside (grapefruit) for the letters and Puffy Umbrella Accents (grapefruit) for the photo corners. I see they have the Puffy ones in Cricket (lime green) and I'm thinking I will have to hunt those down the next time I go shopping! The papers are from the Spring and Summer line. I love bright colors and flowers, so I have used this quite a bit. I threw on a few Paper Studio gems for some sparkle.

Card Sketch using GCD Studios Chic Bebe Line

*This will be featured in an upcoming issue of Paper Creations.*

I had a little time after baseball tonight to get this made and snapped before the sun went completely down. It is is officially hot here in Iowa. 90 today - I'm thinking the air is coming on! Plus as I type my cat is camped out on my lap. Doesn't he get hot wearing fur?

The paper and scalloped die cut are from GCD Studios Chic Bebe line. Cardstock is from Core'dinations, jewels are Paper Studio, teeny alphas are Adornit and a Thicker for the number.

Sunglasses Required?

Warning: These cards came out a little bright!

This was made for a sketch challenge over at Paper Trey Ink. I have some of their products on my wish list! The textured cardstock is Dotted Swiss from Bazzill (I just got it last weekend and am loving it!), some Tinkering Ink paper, Hambly transparency, Kaiser gems, and a Colorbok sticker.

This card was made for a challenge over at the uber talented Melissa Phillip's blog. It was based on a bright colored, fun and funky purse. I love bright colors so this was right up my alley. Doodlebug flocked blue paper, some older Creative Imaginations green paper, Around the Block sentiment paper, Prima, Imaginisce and Making Memories flowers, blinged out with some MAMBI gems. P.S. Thank you Kim for the Imaginisce goodies!

Sorry If I'm Being A Bit Sketchy...

I was home with a sick Parker yesterday and so while he was resting, I played. Plus carpet repair dudes were here (for the last time, thank goodness!) and so I hid out so I wouldn't get in their way. I made this card with Kazan's Sketch #19 at 2 Sketches 4 You. I used some scalloped Bazzill paper, SEI paper, KI Memories chipboard and Around The Block tape. (I'm beginning to think I have a serious addiction to label tape...but it's just so easy and quick to use!)

This card I made for a sketch challenge over at the Bo Bunny Blog. I was so excited that one of my favorite LSS's Maple Street Memories (ok it's not so local, but they do set up shop sometimes at crops I go to), had a bunch of Bo Bunny paper so I just had to have them. I was down to a couple scraps and that wasn't going to get me far. In addition to the Bo Bunny paper and brads, I also used Daisy D's flowers rubons and American Craft sentiment rubons. I believe the flowers are Bazzill.

****REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION IN PAPER CRAFTS SEPT/OCT 2009 ISSUE.
This card was made with Sketch #155 from Card Sketch A Day. I did end up veering off the sketch a bit..oops! Their site as their name states...has a card sketch every day...that's a lot of sketches...cool! I used some Making Memories Passport papers and ABC stickers (I was so excited I found my stash of these tiny alphas...I also seem to have an addiction to them too) , KI Memories chipboard and some Martha Stewart pearls that accidentally fell in my cart this weekend.

Here is a card I made with Sketch #101 at CPS. I have to admit I was a little worried about using the criss cross on the sketch. This card actually came together very quickly once I grabbed the Surprise line from Scenic Route. It's kind of a simple card, but with such busy papers, I saw simple is better :-) I also saw today that my Scenic Route Suprise items I had made on an earlier post were selected as one of the winners on the Scenic Route website for January's Product Challenge...cool beans!
I even made two more cards yesterday, but I'm going to hold off posting as I made for a sketch pub call. If they don't get the love I will share next week. It's sad that I can get more made in a hour or two at home, then 8-9 hours at a crop!

Scenic Route Surprise!

*CARD REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION IN JULY CARDS 2009 ISSUE*

At the crop last weekend I got to chance to play with a lot of my new scrap goodies. The first things I made were with the Scenic Route Surprise line. I even made a layout and I was actually very happy with it :-) I just love the bright colors of this line. The kit also came with die cuts, chipboard and stickers and so I used a little bit of everything. I still have plenty left over so I plan to make some more birthday cards or possibly a bday party mini album in the future. Only other extras include some American Crafts thickers on the layout and some Bazzill cardstock, Mark Richards pearls, Prima flowers, Darice gems and some Are You Kitting Me felt circles on the cards.

Smattering of Cards

Staying up way too late again tonight, but wanted to get a few more cards posted. Still have a few more left that I made recently to post, but that's for another day. On all of these cards the papers are from the September Are You Kitting Me kit. Also had another card with a bunch of Are You Kitting Me goodies, but it will be in the May/June issue of Paper Crafts :-) On this card paper is 3 Bugs In a Rug, rubon is Rusty Pickle, pearls are Mark Richards and some kraft cardstock.
Paper is the back side of the green 3 Bugs In A Rug paper, Archiver's cardstock, K and Company heart, Hambly transparency and Making Memories ABC stickers.
I used a sketch from a fun new site called Rough Draft Sketches. It could be used for either a layout or a card. Papers are Daisy Bucket, Laura Ashley and Bo Bunny, K and Co felt, Making Memories chipboard sentiments, some Paper Studio bling and an EK Success cupcake.

This was also made for a sketch call at Paper Crafts. It's a mini at 3x3 1/2. Daisy Bucket papers, Making Memories brads and ABC Doodlebug rubons.

Sassafras Lass Cards

I know this paper isn't new, but it's new to me :-) Was excited to see some of this Sassafras Lass at Archiver's last night. Also picked up some of their stickers. On the center, I used a Making Memories Halloween die cut, then a Sass stickers, then an EK Success felt flower. The sentiment are Making Memories ABC stickers. (Can't get enough of those - bought two more different ones last night) Size 5x5
Here is another one with more Sass. Also more Making Memories ABC stickers (Xmas ones), some Paper Studio bling...and you can't tell but I used a Tim Holtz clear fragment with the deer. It's actually 3d in real life. I won the fragments and some Glossy Accents at the crop last night...dang I've been lucky lately! Size 4 x 8.

Around the Block Birthday Cards

I'm slowly but surely bringing over cards I originally posted on my family blog. These I made with the Birthday Party line from Around the Block. Love that it's 2 sided - more bang for your buck! Other suplies include Doodlebug pink frills, Paper Studio felt stuff, metal flower/brad, KI Memories flower, some Target ribbon and Archiver's cardstock. Sizes on both are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

Use Your Stash Chipboard Challenge Cards

Here are the cards I made for September's challenge over at Use Your Stash. The challenge product was chipboard. Lets just say I have no shortage of chipboard (and leave it at that...lol). On this card I used a raw chipboard star from Scenic Route. Where you ask? It's under the orange and blue papers. It gave the card nice dimension and without making it too heavy. I used kraft cardstock, Around the Block papers and Darice gems. I've used this birthday paper alot. Love the bright colors and I love that you can cut the different sentiments right out of the paper.

Ok, it's not anywhere near St. Pat's day yet (but in the scrappy world it is). I used Bazzill cardstock, Die Cuts With A View paper and sentiment sticker, American Crafts chipboard swirls and also a DCWV chipboard Pot O' Gold.

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura # 8 and Ashlid

I have been in a bit of a creative funk lately. This always seems to happen after I go to a crop. I lug way too much stuff there and then it takes me a week to get the energy to haul it all back upstairs. Therefore I don't create during that "lazy" time. These are both made from this week's sketches at 2 Sketches 4 You. This ended up being a pretty simply looking card (although I've come to realize and tried to accept the fact that I'm a pretty simple scrap type of girl). I made this with papers from Around The Block, added a Tinkering Ink Rip Strip, some Darice gems and some pink felt. Size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

This sketch is from Ashlid on their design team. I used Basic Grey Blush papers and die cuts, added Imaginsce brads, Rusty Pickle rubon sentiment and a Daisy D flower. I inked everything up with Clearsnap Chesnut Roan. Size 4 1/4 x 4 1/2.

Making Memories Passport Collection Cards

I made these at another crop last weekend. I'm just getting around to posting them...bad blogger!

Paper on all the cards is from Making Memories Passport Collection. Flower is Martha Stewart, Brad is Making Memories, Happy Bday sticker is EK Success Inspirables and ribbon is ????. I inked everything up with Clearsnap Chesnut Roan. Card is 4 1/4 x 6 1/4.

This card looks pinker in the pic that IRL. In addition to the paper, I used more Martha Stewart flowers, EK Success Inspirable sentiment and Paper Studio bling. Size is 3 1/2 x 6.

*Card removed for publication in April 2009 CARDS Magazine.
Also used Making Memories brads, Paper Studio bling and EK Success Inspirable sentiment. This is a mini at 3 x 3 1/2.

Daisy D's July Challenge Toot!

*Removed for publication in an upcoming Crafts N Things issue.

I was excited to find out today that I won their July Challenge Contest. It was to create paper decorations using Daisy D's paper and embellishments. I used the Wonder Years line. I created a card, banner, cup and hat. I used brads to connect the animals' arms so you can actually move them. I was really happy with the way it turned out..I guess Daisy D's was too :-) I can't wait to get some new Daisy D's goodies to play with!

Wow, I attacked this sketch fast this week! I used some more Daisy D Chloe Marie papers and die cut and also used Making Memories ribbon (Lauren Collection) and chipboard pieces, Paper Studio glitter brads and a Darice gem. I tipped the sketch sideways. Size is 4 1/4 x 6.

Page Plan's Sketch #14 - Chris

I found this neat site Page Plans thru another cool site Card of the Week. I decided to give this week's card sketch a try! I used birthday paper from Around the Block, Joann's felt rick rack, Paper Studio flocked brads and star rhinestones. Size is 4x6. I love to use bright colors on birthday stuff!

CPS - Sketch #74

I ended up going with a birthday card for this week's sketch. First I planned to do a baby card, but I just couldn't seem to get it to work, so I changed horses in the middle of the stream as Grandpa says! I ended up pretty happy with the way it turned out...I had to add some bling to sass it up a bit! Cardstock is Bazzill Bling, paper is Around the Block, bling is Paper Studio, ribbon is American Crafts. Size is 4 1/4 x 6.

My Sketch World - 6/14

I'm so sketchy this week! Surfing the net I found this blog and liked their recent sketch so I gave it a go. Papers are Basic Grey Blush and the paper strips are from the packaging that shows small examples of all papers in the paper pack. Also used Darice gems, Making Memories ric rack and American Crafts rubons. I will definitely be checking in for their next sketch!
