2 Sketches 4 You - Laura #9

*Card will be featured in October 2009 issue of Crafts N Things*

I used a variety of manufactures on the card I made for this week's sketch - most items courtesy of Are You Kitting Me. I'm trying to get more outside my comfort zone and not being so match matchy all the time and this kit is perfect to help me do that. Paper is 3 Bugs in a Rug, scalloped paper is from one of the Making Memories notebooks, chipboard fence from Magistical Memories which I applied Doodlebug copper glitter, Daisy Bucket rubon sentiment, Darice gems and some yellow flower ribbon. Size is 4x6.

Made a couple other cards so far with the kit, but submitting to a call so will post in a couple weeks if they don't make the cut.

Girls Weekend Card - courtesy of Are You Kitting Me

*CARD REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION IN JULY 2009 CARDS ISSUE*

I was excited to win September's Are You Kitting Me kit from Magistical Memories. And even more excited when I came home from work yesterday and it was there! Uber cute stuff..lots of funky, fun little pieces in it and a bunch of papers I can't get locally. On this card I used the In the Meadow Daisy Bucket paper and a piece of fabric that was included in the kit. Buttons and Doodlebug rubons were out of my stash. The Daisy Bucket paper has the most interesting texture to it. I felt bad cutting it up! I'm hoping to have time to use more of the kit later today so stop back for more samples in a day or two.

Around the Block Birthday Cards

I'm slowly but surely bringing over cards I originally posted on my family blog. These I made with the Birthday Party line from Around the Block. Love that it's 2 sided - more bang for your buck! Other suplies include Doodlebug pink frills, Paper Studio felt stuff, metal flower/brad, KI Memories flower, some Target ribbon and Archiver's cardstock. Sizes on both are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2

Use Your Stash Chipboard Challenge Cards

Here are the cards I made for September's challenge over at Use Your Stash. The challenge product was chipboard. Lets just say I have no shortage of chipboard (and leave it at that...lol). On this card I used a raw chipboard star from Scenic Route. Where you ask? It's under the orange and blue papers. It gave the card nice dimension and without making it too heavy. I used kraft cardstock, Around the Block papers and Darice gems. I've used this birthday paper alot. Love the bright colors and I love that you can cut the different sentiments right out of the paper.

Ok, it's not anywhere near St. Pat's day yet (but in the scrappy world it is). I used Bazzill cardstock, Die Cuts With A View paper and sentiment sticker, American Crafts chipboard swirls and also a DCWV chipboard Pot O' Gold.

2 Sketches 4 You - Kazan #9

I used my new goodies that Scrapbook and Cards Today sent me when they cruised by my blog a couple weeks ago. It's from Melissa Frances Thankful Page Kit. Gorgeous papers were in this kit! A portion of the proceeds of all of the Thanful kits are donated to http://www.breastcancer.org/ so be sure to check it out. You can find Kazan's sketch here.

In addition to the Thankful papers/die cuts/stickers, I used Paper Studio buttons and inked everything up with Clearsnap Chestnut Roan. Size is 6x6.

P.S. I think my scrapping mojo is finally back...I'm so excited!!!

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge

(click pic for a better view)
I made this for a sketch challenge going on over at the Bo Bunny blog. I actually pulled out some older stuff for this challenge. I had originally planned on making a card and then gasp...I actually did a layout! This layout is 99.9 percent Bo Bunny - the only exception being the photo corners. I did deviate slightly from the sketch in that I didn't used scalloped paper. I didn't have any on hand and couldn't seem to freehand one I liked. It's also overcast and blustery here today so this was the best pic I could snap today - although somehow I managed some glare even though the sun was nowhere to be found! Fall has arrived early here this year!

Papers used are Holiday Magic Ornament (backside green), Shabby Princess Summer Picnic Punch Dots and Black Bead Board. Cardboard stickers used are Princess and She Is. Bodacious Brads used were Licorice and Pink Punch. My supply of their brads is embarrasing...they are just too cute! Be sure to check out their site. Size of the layout is 12x12.

Good Mail Week!

Received a couple of happy emails this week - one from Cards Magazine requesting a card for their February 09 issue and also found out I was a winner in the Creating Keepsakes/Michaels August Gallery contest.

Also received my complimentary copy of Holiday Cards and More from Paper Crafts. I have a Christmas tag in there. Everything in there is gorgeous. I feel lucky to have even had something picked up!

Get Well Soon Card - Basic Grey Blush

I was digging thru my papers looking for something that grabbed my eye to hopefully get my creative juices flowing. I've used this Basic Grey Blush paper line a number of times and just love the color combos on them. I used it for a sketch on the previous post and when I saw the bird I remember reading about a challenge that Melissa Phillips had over on her blog so I ended up making two cards from it. Be sure to stop by Melissa's blog...her stuff is amazing!

In addition to the Basic Grey Blush paper and die cut tag, I added a Darice gem, Rusty Pickle rubon sentiments and rubbed on two DCWV little birds. I thought the one big bird looked lonely :-) I inked everything up with Clearsnap Chesnut Roan. Size is 6x6.

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura # 8 and Ashlid

I have been in a bit of a creative funk lately. This always seems to happen after I go to a crop. I lug way too much stuff there and then it takes me a week to get the energy to haul it all back upstairs. Therefore I don't create during that "lazy" time. These are both made from this week's sketches at 2 Sketches 4 You. This ended up being a pretty simply looking card (although I've come to realize and tried to accept the fact that I'm a pretty simple scrap type of girl). I made this with papers from Around The Block, added a Tinkering Ink Rip Strip, some Darice gems and some pink felt. Size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

This sketch is from Ashlid on their design team. I used Basic Grey Blush papers and die cuts, added Imaginsce brads, Rusty Pickle rubon sentiment and a Daisy D flower. I inked everything up with Clearsnap Chesnut Roan. Size 4 1/4 x 4 1/2.

Pink Paislee Pop Fashion Cards

**Card will be featured in the Paper Crafts Card Creations Vol 7 coming out in June 2009.

Not much to share but here are a couple of very simple cards I made using Pink Paislee's Pop Fashion. I made these a couple weeks ago at a crop. I need to spruce that cloud one up a bit with some bling or something!
